• Helping you log in. If you forget your password, Facebook will text or email a code to the latest contact information associated with that account which can then be used to reset it. This is less of an issue than before when users were allowed unlimited passwords and could lock themselves out by forgetting one too many times! The system remains not perfect though; if someone steals their login credentials from elsewhere they still need this updated verification method.
· Suggesting People You May Know so you can connect with them on Facebook – although some people find these suggestions intrusive (or simply just annoying). An example would be asking “Is Jillian Smith Aware
Facebook may suggest a mobile number to you when adding your phone number, but it will only be added if you choose. Facebook suggests this based on the information they receive from sources such as:
• Your contact info provided by others on Facebook
• A previous unconfirmed number that was entered
